Book Review

I Love You To God and Back

This book is making me cry - in a good way! A mother's nightly prayers with her daughter touch the heart and stir the soul. We know that being a parent is a journey of love, and that we learn from our children, so this book is like a daily log of that journey. Simple, sweet and deep, all at the same time.

A mother so moved by her young daughter's prayers that she decides to record them, then transcribes them with her own reflections added. The book reads like a diary, each chapter starts with a date heading and the child's prayer supported by her mother. Then the author, Amanda Lamb, expounds on the circumstances leading to this particular prayer as well as family relationships, personal growth and lessons
learned from parenthood.

Each entry touches my heart so much that I have temporarily substituted this book for my usual morning devotional. God works in mysterious ways. If you are a parent or are ever planning to become one, I highly recommend this book because it gives insight into the mind of a child and their budding spiritual nature. In such a natural way the book shines a light on the value of children's everyday experiences, as well as the value of expressing gratitude for all things.

I review for BookSneeze®I am so loving this book that I plan to give it to my daughter in the future as a baby shower gift. It would make a wonderful Mother's day gift for the expectant mom, new mom or mother of young children. You don't really have to be a religious person, or of any particular faith, to read this book because it's so down to earth, so real and natural, that I think anyone can relate to it.

It's available on Amazon for $9.49 used or $11.43 new through the link below.
