Fall Fun

Glorious Leaves!

It's that time of year again when the leaves start to turn color and fall off the trees. There's no better time to have some family fun, so bring out the rakes & wheel barrel and call the kids to come out and help. (Don't forget the camera!)

Help?
Is that what you call this? Well, if you're in a hurry to get the job done and you plan on being meticulous I wouldn't plan on making it a family fun day. However, if you can relax your expectations and just plan on having a good time while you get a little yard work done, it can be a great adult stress buster as well as a time for
family bonding.

Economical Fun
Fun comes in all shapes and sizes, and at a wide range of prices too. It's good to know, and to teach your kids, that having fun does not always have to cost a lot of money. Kid's who learn to have fun doing every day activities will find more contentment in their lives as adults. They will learn to entertain themselves and be more creative with their leisure time.

Good Exercise
Another good point about involving the kids in yard work is that it's good exercise. Running, jumping and falling into the leaves on a chilly day is exhilarating. Everyone can work up a little sweat raking, scooping & stuffing leaves into trash bags, gathering broken branches, and pushing the wheel barrel around.

In all the craziness you may get more done than you expect, and you might even find yourself feeling like a kid again! What could be better than that?!

Don't Have A Yard?
Don't miss out just because you live in an apartment. Find an elderly neighbor and ask them if you and your kids can do the raking for them. Not only will it be family fun day but you'll be doing a community service as well. My kids looked forward to helping their grandparents every fall, and their grandparents looked forward to taking these photos.

Help at your local church, community center or school. Even if you can't find someone to help with their yard work, you can always go to a public park and just play in the leaves. Don't miss out on this seasons great opportunity to have fun and create lasting memories!
