Mom Bloggers for Social Good!

Helping The Grandmothers & Children of Africa
The Nyanya Project empowers grandmothers to keep their families together in the face of AIDS devestation. It is the grandmothers who are left to support the family when parents are ill or die from AIDS. Many times the children are also infected and need special care. Nyanya Project trains the grandmothers to
care for their HIV infected family and reinvest the income they are earning from work. These grandmothers become role models in their communities.

The Nyanya Project is a North Carolina non-profit organization that educates preschool children in Kibera, one of the largest slums in east Africa, and will be opening up a new preschool in the Rwandan countryside.

In order to continuing educating the youngest children, the Nyanya Project has set a goal to raise $20,000 by Mother's Day 2012. That is only $20 from 1000 people.
